MessageMate terms of use

MessageMate (‘the app’) is a texting app for small businesses published by VIP Tech, Dublin, Ireland. You must be 18 or over to use it. By using the app you agree to these terms.

Plans

The basic messenger is free. The extra business features are free for the first 7 days, then need a monthly subscription. The price is shown in Google Play before you subscribe.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed through Google Play and renew monthly until cancelled. Cancel anytime in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. If you cancel during the free trial you will not be charged.

Text messages and calls

SMS messages are sent through your mobile network, so your normal network charges apply and delivery is not guaranteed. MessageMate is not for contacting the emergency services; use your phone’s dialler. Internet messages work between MessageMate users who have linked their numbers.

Messaging your customers

You are responsible for what you send and for having the right to contact each person, including consent for marketing messages under Irish and EU law. Broadcasts include ‘Reply STOP to opt out’ and the app stops texting anyone who replies STOP. Do not use the app for spam, harassment, scams or anything unlawful. Auto-replies and missed-call text-backs send messages from your number automatically, so check they say what you want.

Teams

If you use Team inbox, the person who creates the team decides who joins and is responsible for what team members can see and send.

Service and liability

We aim to keep the service available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, VIP Tech is not liable for missed or delayed messages or for indirect or business losses from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes and law

We may update the app and these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
